Oceans 20 was one of the most distinctive and ambitious unrealised projects Marine Facilities Australia has had the opportunity to contribute to. Conceived as a floating restaurant and entertainment venue, the project was envisioned as a landmark destination for the Airlie Beach waterfront, offering a new way to experience dining and leisure directly on the water.

MFA was engaged from the earliest stages of the project, providing end-to-end support from initial concept development through to detailed construction documentation. Our involvement included feasibility assessment, marine design coordination, regulatory considerations, and the technical planning required to deliver a complex floating structure within a sensitive marine environment.

While the project ultimately did not proceed to construction, it remains a strong example of MFA’s capability to guide innovative waterfront concepts through every stage of the development process, balancing creativity with practical marine engineering and compliance expertise.
